Quickstart

Get up and running with ChangeLab Creator in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through creating an account, starting your first project, and building a simple learning experience.


Sign in

ChangeLab Creator uses your AVT Google account for authentication.

  1. Go to ChangeLab Creator
  2. Click Sign in with Google
  3. Select your AVT Google account
  4. You will be taken to your dashboard

Create your first project

Once logged in, you can create a new project from your dashboard.

  1. Click New Project from the dashboard
  2. Give your project a name (e.g., "My First Course")
  3. Choose a platform:
    • Meet — Timeline-based editor, ideal for linear learning flows
    • Engage — Level-based structure with branching paths
    • Activate — Standalone activities for quick deployment
  4. Click Create

You will be taken to the project editor where you can start building your content.


Add your first screen

Screens are the building blocks of your learning experience. Here is how to add a start screen.

  1. In the editor, click Add or drag from the asset panel
  2. Select Screens from the asset type
  3. Choose Start V1 or Start V2
  4. The screen will be added to your timeline or level

Customise your content

Every screen and game can be customised using the sidebar editor.

  1. Click on a screen in your timeline to select it
  2. The sidebar will show all customisation options
  3. Edit the title, description, and button text
  4. Upload a background image by clicking the image field
  5. Adjust colours to match your branding

Changes are saved automatically as you work.

Connect GitHub (optional)

If you want to publish your project to a live URL (rather than just exporting a SCORM package), you can connect your GitHub account.

Why connect GitHub?

  • Deploy to a hosted URL — Share your project via a web link
  • Version control — Your project files are stored in a repository
  • Collaboration — Team members can access the project repository

How to connect

  1. Go to Settings from the dashboard or project menu
  2. Click Connect GitHub
  3. Authorise ChangeLab Creator to access your GitHub account
  4. Choose which repositories to grant access to (or allow all)
  5. Once connected, you can deploy projects from the Publish menu
